Spring has sprung!!...along time ago ;-)

So this post was supposed to be posted back when I got the flowers and planted them...but obviously that didn't happen! So now I'm turning it into a then and now type post. For one reason, I am quite proud that not only have my plants lived this long, but they have actually gotten bigger and fuller!! Woohoo go me for not killing them...yet!

Much needed spa day!

Have I mentioned that sometimes...just sometimes, my husband is romantic! Haha! He's really good at helping me around the house and with Beau, but sometimes he shows it in other ways too.

Like yesterday. He had to go into the shop at work and pick up parts to take to the rig, so he was gone the majority of the day. Let's just say that Beau was a little monster pretty much all day. He climbed up on our dining room table, he climbed up on the bar stools and swept stuff off the bar, just an all around wild man. He has also decided that he hates for me to where my glasses, and will rip them off my face as soon as he realizes I'm wearing them. So he had only done that a million times yesterday too.

So yesterday when Kolby came home he said he had a surprise for me; to cancel all my plans for tomorrow (today). He had stopped and gotten me a gift certificate to the spa near our house for a manicure, pedicure, and 30 min massage!!! Woohoo, a fabulous day of pampering!

So I went today, and it was glorious! I absolutely love the color I picked out. Now I'm ready for spring!! The other picture is Beau being a monster yesterday!

Another first...

So...this weekend we had another first in our household. Well, two actually. First the fun one, as you saw in my previous post, we went to the St. Patty's day parade in Dallas. This was Beau's first time to go. He was such a good little boy the whole time.

The second first was not as much fun...but it did make me laugh! So Friday night I was giving Beau his bath in anticipation of going to bed early since we had to wake up so early. All of a sudden he stopped playing, squatted down, and started grunting. It was like slow motion, but I couldn't move fast enough to get him out. And what was I gonna do if I did get him out, dangle him over the toilet?! Lol. And so we had our first poop in the bathtub!! Aaahhh!!! I guess I should be thankful we made it 15.5 months before it happened. It seriously made me laugh though! So needless to say, bathtime came to an unexpected (and immediate) halt!

Oh the joys of having a toddler!! That little boy cracks me up!!!

St. Patrick's Day 2012

We had so much fun for St. Patty's Day this year!  We went to the parade in Dallas, and this year was Beau's first year.  He was such a good boy the entire time!  I love that he is such an easy going baby.  He did some good running around and playing.  He wasn't too much into the parade itself, and the 18 wheelers scared him when they would honk, but otherwise he had fun.

You will notice in the pictures that he doesn't have shoes on...we had to get up at 5AM and out the door by 5:45, so we just took Beau in his pajamas and were going to dress him there.  I made double sure that I had each piece of clothing and BOTH shoes!  Well, long story short, when we got there, there was only ONE shoe!  The other shoe apparently fell out in Aunt PJ's driveway (where we found it when we got back that afternoon).  So poor Beau Beau just wen without shoes!  He didn't care!

Beau needed a coozy for his sippy cup
He was such a little mad man!

Yeah...I'm the pushover mom...

Well, at least sometimes I am...and this morning was one of those mornings.  As I've mentioned before, Beau is a climber.  He climbs on anything he can get ahold of.  The other day he climbed up in our bar height dining room table chair and we caught him just as he was about to get up onto the table!  So the pictures below showed him and his adventures from this morning.

At least he finally decided to hold onto the entertainment center
 Such a goober
Breakfast of champions, Lucky Charms straight from the box!
We did a little computer work too
And of course we were looking cute as always

Good food & a photo shoot

We went over to our friends house a few nights ago.  To Beau they are Maimy and Popo, lol!  Beau had a blast playing in their backyard.  They have older children, so they are well equipped for entertaining kiddos!
Beau is such a fearless little boy.  He would climb up on the door of their storm shelter and then basically jump off.  He was so proud of himself that he could climb up there too...little stinker! Makes this momma nervous!

 Trying to be like Popo
He was having so much fun throwing leaves

Poor little baby boy, he crashed so hard, he didn't even make it through supper!

Play ball!

Have I mentioned that someone in our household has a major obsession with balls?! Well, he does! Any ball will do, although right now he is partial to his basketballs.  He can spot a ball a mile away.  When we walk through the grocery store he will spot a ball on a store display half way across the place and will start saying "ball, ball"!  He loves to play ball with the dogs too.  He has a little basketball goal that he knows how to use and is quite good at too!  My future basketball star!

At the Waterpark!

The weather here has been just absolutely gorgeous as of late, so we decided to take full advantage of that this afternoon!  We went to the store and got Beau a blow up water arch that we could set up in the backyard and create our very our miniature water park!  Oh my goodness, Beau had such a blast!  He was hesitant to run through it at first and get the water on his face, but after the first couple of runs, he was a pro!  He would run through with the biggest smile on his face and just squeal with delight!

~15 Month's Old~

Weight: 23lbs 3oz
Height: 32.3 in
  • Wearing size 3 diapers during the day and a size 4 overnight
  • Wear size 4/5 shoes and 12 month clothes
  • You are running pretty much full speed now, if you fall down, most of the time you pop right up and go on running!
  • Grumps got you a play slide for Christmas, and you absolutely love it!  You will play on it forever!
  • You now say mama, dada, bubba, nana (banana/Nana), a version of thank you, a version of apple
  • You know what sound a sheep and a cow make, we have been working so hard on barking like a dog, but all you like to do is the panting noise.  It's so cute!
  • You love any touch and feel books and flap books
  • You are starting to catch on to coloring, or at least you don't eat the crayons (most of the time)
  • You are good at patty cake when you want to do it, and you are starting to do the movements to the itsy bitsy spider
  • You are starting to sleep later in the morning sometimes, normally still wake up 7:00-7:30am but the other morning you slept until 9:15am!!! I had to go check on you a couple times cause you had me worried!
  • You are still the best napper, on days we spend at home all day you take 2 naps usually 10am for about 1.5-2hrs and then 3pm for about the same length of time.  If we are out and about we usually go out mid morning and you nap from about 12-3ish.  Mommy loves that you love your sleep!!!
  • You still love toilet paper, the toilet brush and plunger (if you can get your hands on them...YUCK!!!)
  • We are pretty sure you had Fifth disease this past month.  You had a fever for two days and a light cough.  We took you to the Dr. and he said it was just a normal cold, but then the next day you broke out with red spots/blotches all over your chest and belly!  All signs of Fifth disease which is a nonharmful virus that just has to run it's course.  You were all  better in about 2 days, and it definitely didn't slow you down at all!!!
  • You can point to your belly and show us where your tongue is, sometimes you will point to your nose and eyes and mouth (if you feel like it :-))
