EB Awareness Week

I know that I am a little late getting this up this week, but I am so scatter brained! I have been following some blogs of folks with this devastating skin condition for some time now, and I felt that I should do my part to help spread awareness! These children are such joyous additions to this world, and they fight everyday to live. Please visit their blogs to learn more!

Week 33 Survey!!!

Baby's now the size of a melon!!!

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Survey

How far along? 33 weeks

Weight Gain? A whopping 140 lbs! That's one more pound gained in the last two weeks!

Maternity clothes? They are my life! Though I do fit in a couple of my regular winter shirts! Woohoo, go me!

Stretch marks? Nope!!! No new ones, and the belly is still looking good!

Sleep? I have actually gotten a little, and I even took a nap on Saturday afternoon!

Best moment this week? Tieing down a for sure week for the delivery! Nov 28-Dec 4, we will set an actual day once we get closer! I can't believe that we have just 5 more weeks!

Movement? Still a wild man!! His arms and legs are facing my right side, so that's pretty much the only side that he likes to kick...little stinker!

Belly Button: In or Out? Almost totally flat, but if he is up front on my belly, the top of the belly button will poke out, but it will still move back down! It's like it has a mind of it's own these days...

Food cravings? Loving the food, but the food isn't really loving me. Heartburn has started to rear it's ugly head, ugh!!! Everytime I lay down for bed, I get sick to my stomach...

Gender? Still a manly man!

Labor signs? Nope, just having a few Braxton Hicks contractions here and there!

What I miss? Nothing really this week! But this tailbone pain is starting to get tiresome!

What I'm looking forward to? Our fun weekend this Halloween weekend, and my shower on Nov 6 with all my girlfriends!

Weekly Wisdom: Make a list and mark things off as you do them...otherwise you will not remember what you have to do...then again, even with the list, you still may not remember!

My Handsome Man!

My OB appointment this week went great! The little man was very, very active during the appointment, so it was a relatively short ultrasound this week. Part of the BPP is a time test of movement counts. Since he was being a wild man, it didn't take the tech very long at all to get all the info that she needed. I did get to see him give a really big yawn, it was so cute! I'm starting my countdown to delivery, just a little over 5 weeks until Beau makes his debut! I just can't believe it! I'm trying to get lots done this weekend on straightening up his nursery and getting the rest of my goodies in line!

Week 32 Survey!!!

Baby's now the size of an butternut squash!!!

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

How far along? 32 weeks

Weight Gain? Haven't weighed myself! Don't wanna know!

Maternity clothes? That's all I'm rocking these days, and some of the shirts are getting too short!

Stretch marks? Nope!!! No new ones, and the belly is still looking good!

Sleep? This word is not spoken from my mouth these days, it just makes me mad to think about it!

Best moment this week? Seeing my giant little man at the Specialist, and on the non pregnant side of my life, getting to get out and about on Saturday and hang out with my girlfriends!

Movement? Still kicking away!!

Belly Button: In or Out? Starting to believe that it's not going to turn out...made it another week in, but the top is starting to poke out a little!

Food cravings? Not really any this week!!!

Gender? Totally dude!

Labor signs? Nope, we've been all good, but I'm having some Braxton Hicks contractions!

What I miss? For some reason, this week I really wanted a Big Red soda!

What I'm looking forward to? Starting the countdown to Beaus' arrival, and all of my birthing/breastfeeding classes that are coming up in November! And Kolby's family coming in to our house for a fun filled Halloween weekend!

Weekly Wisdom: Don't blow off some pain just because you think it's nothing to worry about, it may be nothing, but that doesn't mean you have to suffer with it either. It could have an easy fix! (Hence, my support belt...still fabulous!!)

~Fun with my girlfriends~

This past Saturday we participated in a charity walk for Down Syndrome in Arlington. It was such a nice day,and we had such a great time hanging out and getting balloon animals and our faces painted. I made it pretty good to with my big ol' belly! I had to sit for a bit while we were waiting in line to get our faces painted, but otherwise I made it pretty good!

Later on Saturday, my friend April and her girls met me at my house and we went to the pumpkin patch! The girls had so much fun, and so did us adults! The girls jumped in the bounce houses, rode ponies, and we all went on the tractor hay ride!

Specialist Appt

Last Tuesday was my appt with the Specialist! When I go to the specialist, we always get our size estimate on Mr. Beau. Well as I suspected, he is still a big boy! He was weighing in at 4lb 6oz! So not as much weight gain as the last time, but still alot! He had gained 12 oz in two weeks, so almost a pound, but not quite! Otherwise, the appt was pretty quick and painless, just in and out! Dr. said that he looks great and I look great! Sorry for the short little blurb of an update, but that's what happens when you have a good report! And we will always take good reports!

Here is a profile shot, not the clearest picture, but I still love seeing him!!!

Maternity Photos!!!

One of my best friends was sweet enough to do a little mini maternity photo shoot for me when I was in Utopia for my shower a few weeks ago! I love that girl! And I love her work!!!! she mostly does nature/scenery/animals, but she was sweet enough to shoot me and my big ol' belly! Here are just some of my favorite pictures that she took! You can see all of the edited pictures here!

Yeah...we've got a big boy!

So, Wednesday all day during work, I started having some pain right on the end of my tailbone. I didn't really think much of it, just figured that since the we are getting closer to this finish line, that my body is going to start to get achy. Well the tailbone pain continued all day, and sitting wasn't the most comfortable thing to do. I made it through my day, and then when I got home I started having some stomach pain along the right side of my stomach. Only on the right side though...kinda weird. Well, it continued through the evening, and through the night it got worse. It hurt to move, to do anything that used my stomach muscles at all. It hurt to the touch, and it hurt when Mr. Beau would kick it! Which seemed to be his chosen area to kick! I couldn't sleep and I tossed and turned all night. I was having some Braxton Hicks contractions throughout the night, and everytime I had one, it would make my stomach hurt. Then I would freak out thinking, well, now these are painful, are they real contractions?!? I tried timing them, but there was no consistancy, so that at least alleviated some of my worry. However, I decided to put in a phone call to my Dr. in the morning. The nurse returned my phone call, and had me come in to see the nurse practioner and get checked out.

Turns out that I am having some severe ligament pains, and from the pain that I'm describing, she said that it sounds like my ligaments might be having spasms as well. So now, upon her recommendation, I am the proud new owner of a maternity support belt. And let me tell you, it is fabulous!! It helps my poor little belly to hold itself up with no pain anymore! Thank heavens!
Not the best photo of it, but mine looks just like this one, but in white!

My shower in Corpus Christi!!!

This last weekend, I had my shower with Kolby's family and childhood church in Corpus Chisti. It was a couples shower, but sadly Kolby couldn't come down with my due to work (as usual)...It was such a nice shower! We had catered food, build your own taco salad, and oh, it was so yummy!! It was so nice to get to see everyone and get the chance to visit. I hate that we are so far away, as I love going down there and staying at the lakehouse, it is just so relaxing and enjoyable! Please enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the party!!!

My adorable cake!! Thank you so much Katie and Carrie for all of the fabulous food!!! I made sure to rub it in to Kolby that he missed out!!
Kolby's mom, Penny, brought this photo page because I had never seen what Kolby looked like as a baby. I've seen lots of pictures of him as a child, but never as a baby. We were comparing this photo to our 3D sono, and now I have a much better idea of what our son will look like. I vote that he looks just like his daddy!
