Day 3: Tying up loose ends

Day 3 - We trecked all over this city and back again! We used this day to see all the smaller sights that were not on the tip top of our list! Our feet hurt so bad from walking all over the city, but we were not about to miss out on anything!!! Once again, another picture overload!

Our morning started bright and shining! Everyone full of energy, which was good, cause we were gonna need it!

Boys will be boys...Kolby thought he needed to walk up the down escalator.

First stop, St. Paul's Chapel
This chapel backs up to ground zero, when the towers fell, it was not touched at all. It immediately became a rescue area where victims were brought for care and rescue workers could rest and get first aid and meals.

George Washington's pew

This display was incredible. There is a patch for every fire department that responded on 9/11. I saw patches all the way from Ohio and Iowa, I'm sure there were some from every state though.

Next stop...

We walked about 1/3 of the way across, but it was so cold and windy out there, we turned back. We didn't want to walk to Brooklyn anyways...

Us out on the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn in the background

Keifer, Penny, Grandma, and Kolby

The view of lower Manhattan

Next stop...

Fun Fact: This train station is the most used, and most recognizable train station in any movie!

Being here brought new meaning to the saying my mom used to say when the phone wouldn't stop ringing "Where is this Grand Central Station?" (or something along those lines...) that place is busy!!! and LOUD!

Next stop...New York Public Library

This is the Library where they hide from the bad weather on The Day After Tomorrow and where Carrie is supposed to get married on the Sex and the City movie!

Keifer pretending to read...

Next stop...the Flatiron Building
I don't really know what this building is famous for, I didn't research it. I just knew it was on my list of things I wanted to see. We literally got off the subway walked out took pictures of it and got back on the subway to go to the hotel. But, hey, I got to see it!!!!

Again, I don't know what this building is, I just love the lighting on this photo!
