Let the roller coaster ride begin...

***Update***

I got my test results and they were NEGATIVE!!

So I'm free to walk around for two more weeks. We will retest at my next OB appointment in two weeks, and just continue to check my cervical length at my appointment next week at the Specialist. I'll be taking advantage of this next week and try to get alot of stuff done! And I have my shower this weekend, so I'm glad I still got a pass to go to that too!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So yesterday was my first Biophysical Profile with my OB who I am now seeing every other week, and I am having a BPP done at every visit. We got good news and some potentially not good news...Good news first! Baby Beau is looking great! We got to see him moving all around, opening and closing his mouth, swallowing, and stretching out! So fun! They didn't do measurements on him, since they said they wait at least two weeks in between measurements to make sure there is plenty of time to have a size difference, but that overall he looks great! So YAY! Healthy baby is the main outcome of this mission!
My son's beautiful face!!
We got a 3D sneak peek! Another shot of his face! We may be bias, but we think that is one pretty adorable face!!!
Now for the potentially not so good news...Dr. K said that my cervix is measuring 1 mm away from the thickness in which they become concerned about it being short. This is the first measurement I have had, so we have nothing to compare to. I could have been like this the whole pregnancy and it will stay at this length until delivery time. BUT, if that is not the case, and my cervix is shortening, we could be looking at restricted activity/bedrest from here on out. So yesterday at the appointment the Dr. did a test called a Fetal Fibronectin test. This test determines the possibility of going into labor in the next two weeks. If the test comes back negative, then I am not going to go into labor naturally in the next two weeks, but if the test comes back positive, there is a 30% chance that I could go into labor naturally in the next two weeks. It doesn't mean that I will for sure, it just means that there is an increased chance of it happening. If it does come back positive, Dr. K said that she will admit me to Labor & Delivery for a minimum 24 hour observation period to monitor my cervix and see if I'm having any contractions. I haven't felt any contractions at all, and I think I've had a Braxton Hicks contraction a couple days ago, but I'm not sure...LOL! If my cervix is not changing (thinning) during that 24 hours of observations, I don't know what the next step will be, but if it is thinning, I will most likely be on bedrest or possibly staying in the hospital for the long haul...but we aren't thinking that far in advance just yet! I should have the results today!
We knew that the last trimester would be when things started to get fun! So let the roller coaster ride begin! We are (somewhat) prepared to hop on! Haha! We are prepared to do whatever it takes to get this little boy here safely and keep me safe in the process too! If that means bedrest from here on out, then lets do it! Alright, now yall know as much as I know! Now we wait for the results of the test! Wish me luck!
Here's to hoping the text comes back negative and you can continue with "normal" life for a while longer. I think that face is pretty darn cute too!...so much for being biased. Love you guys.
